Dear Friend,
Today, your signature can save a life. "I cannot go back to Afghanistan….If I go back, it is like I am signing my suicide mission.”—Nashimus
Nashimus is one of hundreds of Christians who fled to the United States for refuge when the Taliban took over Afghanistan. Now, Nashimus and many more are facing deportation to Afghanistan, where their faith carries a death sentence. They followed all legal pathways for resettlement…and now their lives are on the line because of changes in government policies.
At Help The Persecuted, our team is on-the-ground now in 15 Islamic countries. The stories of Afghan Christians we’ve helped are heart-wrenching: |
-
After being brutally tortured for months, Timothy had a gun held to his head by Taliban fighters demanding he renounce Christ. He refused.
- Hakim witnessed weekly beheadings in his prison cell. When his turn came, God miraculously intervened.
- Nabi was tortured so severely for his faith that he could no longer walk. He was later executed, leaving his wife and children vulnerable.
|
Shuja, another Christian in the same situation as Nashimus, said, “Many people who are believers, we know they are in jail. Their children are in prison. There are hundreds in the Taliban's jail. They are raped. They are tortured…” This isn't about politics—it's about preventing the execution of fellow believers in Christ who followed every legal pathway to find refuge.
Your Voice Can Save Lives It's natural to feel overwhelmed by such injustice, to wonder what difference one person can possibly make against such darkness, against the wicked Taliban regime.
But Scripture reminds us that "we are God's fellow workers" (1 Corinthians 3:9). Your voice matters profoundly in this moment. Two simple actions from you today could help save lives: |
-
Sign our urgent petition → calling for protection for these Afghan believers who followed every legal process to find sanctuary in the United States
- Forward this urgent message → to three friends who cherish religious freedom
|
When we deliver these signatures to the White House, your name will stand against persecution and stand for these vulnerable believers. |
Thank you for standing up for Afghan Christians, Joshua Youssef President & CEO, Help The Persecuted
P.S. After signing the petition, please forward this email to three friends who value religious freedom! Every voice matters in this critical moment. |
