Dear Friend,
This April, as our nation approaches 250 years of freedom, something extraordinary will take place in Washington, D.C. America Reads the Bible is led by Christians Engaged, a national ministry calling believers to prayer, civic engagement and deeper commitment to God’s Word. For one full week, leaders from across America will gather in our nation’s capital to read the Bible aloud — from Genesis to Revelation — publicly and without interruption. America Reads the Bible is not simply an event to attend. It is a national moment to enter with reverence, gratitude and expectation. |
A Historic Week in Our Nation’s Capital |
The week begins April 18 with a special Opening Celebration at National Community Church in Washington, D.C., where leaders from every sphere of influence will share how Scripture has shaped their lives and call our nation back to daily Bible reading.
Beginning April 19 at the Museum of the Bible, more than 475 confirmed readers will step forward over seven days to proclaim God’s Word aloud for 12 hours each day.
Readers include Cabinet leaders, Members of Congress and governors, along with Franklin Graham, Candace Cameron Bure, Cameron and BJ Arnett, Patricia Heaton, Danny Gokey, Pastor Sammy Rodriguez, Leeland and many others — pastors, artists, ministry leaders, parents and everyday believers — each taking their place in lifting Scripture over our nation.
As Ezra once read the Law publicly to the people of Israel, awakening repentance and renewal, we believe this week is a sacred opportunity to gather again around the Word that has shaped our spiritual foundations. Learn More | If you are able to be in Washington, D.C. for a day that week, I encourage you to make plans now.
There is something powerful about sitting in the room as Scripture is read aloud continuously, hearing passage after passage proclaimed in our capital during this historic anniversary year. Advance tickets are required and cannot be purchased at the Museum of the Bible. Your ticket includes: |
- Three hours of reserved seating during one day of Bible reading in the World Stage Theater
- All-day access to the Museum of the Bible, including the Dead Sea Scrolls on display for a limited time
- Admission to a private gallery featuring 66 original paintings revealing Christ in every book of the Bible
-
Opportunities for prayer and connection with national discipleship partners

This is more than attendance. It is participation in a defining national moment. |
Join the Livestream from Anywhere |
If travel is not possible, you can still take part fully through the complimentary national livestream hosted by Great American Pure Flix.
Many are already planning to gather their families, churches and small groups to follow the reading together throughout the week. When you register, you will receive viewing details and reminders so you can engage intentionally wherever you are. |
As we approach this milestone year in our nation’s history, my prayer is that this week will mark a renewed hunger for God’s Word across America — not only in our capital, but in our homes, churches and communities. Participation will look different for each person. Some will sit in the room. Others will gather at home. Many will commit to pray throughout the week. All of it matters. I hope you will decide now how you will take part. |
