Dear Friend,
America Reads the Bible is taking place April 18–25, 2026, in Washington, D.C. For seven days, Scripture will be read aloud in our nation’s capital — from Genesis to Revelation. Nearly 500 readers will take part over the course of the week. |
Begin the Week at the Opening Celebration |
On April 18, we will gather at the Capital Turnaround for a special Opening Celebration. This evening will bring together worship, testimony and leaders from across the country, setting the tone for the week ahead and calling people back to daily engagement with Scripture. Seating is limited. Reserve your spot: |
The Live Bible Reading Experience |
Beginning April 19, Scripture will be read aloud at the Museum of the Bible’s World Stage Theater — from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for seven straight days.
Leaders from many different backgrounds—from households to heads of state—will take part, but the focus remains the same: to return to the spiritual foundation that has shaped our country — the Word of God. At the end of each hour of Bible reading, worship leaders like Danny Gokey and Kim Walker-Smith will be facilitating prayer and worship, creating an atmosphere to respond to God’s Word. |
Here’s How You Can Take Part |
If you can make it to D.C. for even one day, don’t miss the chance to be in the room. There is something significant about hearing God’s Word read aloud, live, in our nation’s capital as America marks 250 years. Make a plan, come for a day, and be part of it in person. Your ticket also includes access to the Museum of the Bible and its exhibits during your visit. Advance tickets are required and cannot be purchased at the Museum of the Bible. |
The live event will be available to everyone through the free national livestream hosted by Great American Pure Flix.
This is something you’re going to want to experience with other people — grab your family, text your friends, get your church involved, and help spread the word as you follow the reading together. Sign up now and receive the link for the livestream in your inbox. |
If you are 18–30 — or know someone who is — The Return is a Gen Z summit happening in Washington, D.C., during this week.
Young adults from across the country will gather to hear God’s Word, learn from leaders, build community and step into their role in this moment. It’s the perfect opportunity for Gen Z to grow in their faith and to put that faith into action. |
This week is an opportunity to be part of something bigger — whether you attend the Opening Celebration, soak in the experience in Washington, D.C., gather with others to watch the livestream, or invest in the next generation through The Return. However you participate, I hope you’ll join us for this once-in-a-lifetime moment. |
