Ohio father Blaine Schmitt is thanking God for keeping him alive and his family safe from a deadly tornado last Thursday. Schmitt explained that his wife was just minutes from home with their 1- and 3-year-old children when she decided to turn around to avoid the tornado. Had they returned, the young children would have been in an upstairs bedrooms from which the tornado ripped an entire wall. "I’ve been praying about God keeping my family safe, and He does. He did. I already knew God was with us and our family," Schmitt told ABC 6. Schmitt, a former neighbor, and his dog survived by sheltering in a bathtub.

A new documentary sets out to prove that Noah's flood "wasn't an allegory; it happened in real-time just thousands of years ago," Dan Biddle, the executive producer of the film, told The Christian Post. "The Ark and The Darkness: Unearthing the Mysteries of Noah's Flood" tackles myths and misconceptions about the worldwide event, drawing from multiple scientific disciplines to point to the reality of Noah's Flood. It also highlights similarities between the time of Noah and today, with Biddle explaining, "Jesus Himself draws that parallel between the flood and End Times, and so we do the same thing in the movie."

This week, our CP Voices contributors weighed in on issues such as preachers who attack Paul's teachings, how to be a happy culture warrior, and girl "power" through a Christian lens. As we close out the week, we'd like to leave you with this thought from Judge Phil Ginn, a retired judge and lawyer:
"As we face the uncertainty of these days, let us be found standing in the battle in the full armor of God, proclaiming a God who loved the world so much that He gave His only Son to die for our sins. Then with the glory of Easter before us, we will continue to stand in the power of Christ’s resurrection." |
